Wattilisk (Vincent Woropay, 1988) is located outside the Queen Elizabeth II Law Courts in Birmingham city centre.
This item of public art is based on an art-carving machine invention of
James Watt where small replica versions of busts could be made. Woropay
has depicted five forms of Chantrey's original bust of Watt at various
stages of completeness.
Positively Birmingham has a whole chapter on James Watt and Matthew
Boulton and their work in Birmingham during the industrial revolution.
